Fire and Rain Membership Showcase Necklace 2009: #1
We are planning a members' showcase necklace. Participation is open to the entire Fire and Rain membership. The completed necklace will be displayed at the Seattle Glassblowing Studio during the F&R April 2010 exhibit and photos will appear on our web site.
We hope to make this an annual project that reflects the changing styles, skills, and creativity of our membership through time.
Participation is open to Fire and Rain members only. There is no specific theme for this first necklace. Your contribution is a bead that reflects your style. The largest acceptable dimensions are 50mm x 25mm (that's roughly 2"x1")
and that's a pretty big bead - but be true to yourself in your size; this is a total reflection of you and your art. The
bead hole must be 3/32 .
Colors and shapes are totally determined by you - the artist.
The
FINAL DEADLINE to turn in your bead is December 31, 2009 .
A small descriptive should be included. The Board will designate a designer who will transform our art into our showcase necklace.
The Northwest Bead Society has done projects like this in the past. Check out their website NWBS and view their 2003 commemorative necklace.
